Vivekananda's call to the nation

First of all,Happy national youth day to all the young and energetic
body and mind of Great India. Today, b’day of Swami Vivekananda, who
had a great vision for the youth of our country. With a clear
philosophy of life, proper understanding of values and culture, our
youth can be developed into beacon lights. The presence of even a
handful of such youth in the society can make a huge difference in the
process of national building.

These are the few words by Vivekananda, touching upon every facet of
our national life, with their freshness and vigour provide answers to
questions that agitate both the individual and society.

*He is an atheist, who does not believe in himself. The old religions
said that he was an atheist who did not believe  in god. The new
religion says that he is an atheist who does not believe in himself.

*Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak,
weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be.

*Never say ,’No’, never say ,’I cannot’, for you are infinite. Even
time and space are as nothing compared with your native. You can do
anything and everything, you are almighty.

*The remedy for weakness is not brooding over weakness, but thinking
of strength. Teach men of the strength that is already within them.

*This is great fact: Strength is life, weakness is death. Strength is
felicity, life eternal, immortal. Weakness is constant strain and
misery, weakness is death.

*What work do you expect from men of little hearts? Nothing in the
world! You must have an iron will if you would cross the ocean. You
must be strong enough to pierce mountains.

* Whatever you  do,devote your whole mind, heart and soul to it.

*The human body is the greatest body in the universe, and a human
being the greatest being. Man is higher than all the animals, than all
angels, none is greater than man.

*This world is the great gymnasium, where we come to make ourselves strong.

*You have to grow from inside out. None can teach you,  none can make
you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.

*My ideal indeed can be put into  a few words and that is: to preach u
to mankind their divinity, and how to make it manifest in every
movement of life.

*Every good thought that we send to the world without thinking of any
return, will be stored up there and break one link in the chain, and
make us purer and purer, until we become the purest of mortals.

*If you project hatred and jealousy, they will rebound on you with
compound interest.
*Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.

*We want that education by which character if formed, strength of mind
is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on
one’s own feet.

*It is the level-headed man,the calm man,of good judgement and cool
nerves,of great sympathy and love, who does good work and so does good
to himself.

*Go from village to village, do good to humanity and to the world at
large.Go to hell yourself to buy salvation for others, ‘When death is
so certain, it is better to die for a good cause’.

*The definition of god and man: Man is an infinite circle whose
circumference is no-where, but the center is located in one spot: and
god is an infinite circle whose circumference is nowhere, but whose
center is every-where.

*The only definition that can  be given of mortality is this: That
which is selfish is immoral, and that which is not unselfish is moral.

*India will be raised, not with the power of flesh, but with the power
of the spirit: not with the flag of destruction, but with the flag of
peace and love..One vision I see clear as life before me: that the
ancient mother was awakened  once more, sitting in her throne-
rejuvenated, more glorious than ever.Proclaim her to all the world with
the voice of peace and benediction.

*Let new India arise-out of peasants cottage, grasping the plough:out
of the huts of the fisherman, the cobbler, and the sweeper.Let the
spring from the grocer’s shop, from beside the oven of the
fritter-seller.Let her emanate from the factory, from marts, and from
markets.Let her emerge from grooves and forests, from hills and
mountains.

*Make your nerves strong. What we want is muscels of iron and nerves of
steel. We have wept long enough. No more weeping, but stand on your feet
and be men.

*If you really are my children, you will fear nothing, stop at
nothing. You will be like lions. We must rouse India and the whole
world..My children must be ready to jump into fire,if needed,to
accomplish their work.

*Let us all be honest. If we cannot follow the ideal, let us confess our
weakness, but not degrade it; let not any try to pull it down.
